thursday july 24th

Today we split up into three groups and talked to Joe about the programming, Chris Anderson about the web page and Zosimo about the sphere and his progress on it. After talking to all three of them we gained a lot more knowledge to help us move forward. We also did some more general research on things like detectors and science on a sphere. We will hopefully be able to use all the knowledge gained today in the future to help our project be the best it can be!

updates

July 15 2008

As of now we are finally getting the wheels spinning to start programming and researching. We are trying to get into the science center so we can see where the immersive cube will be and what we will be working with. Our main job though, is to research our three topics for our presentations (black holes, life of a photon, and an interactive presentation). A few of our members are learning how to use the Luster program which will allow us to create these presentations.
During today's meeting we discussed fundraising options so we can utilize certain facilities and be able to provide ourselves with any needed materials. Our goals for Thursday are to get into full swing with research and start to look at the presentation aspect as a whole. There is still some confusion with what light actually is and how it operates but we're getting around it. Now all we are trying to do is learn about many of the faculty around RIT that can help us and to ask them any specific questions that might be able to help us during our research.
